| At twenty four, Ujay Bajracharya is among the
youngest artists in the country. What distinguishes
him from his contemporaries, however, is his
selected area of interest-paubhas. Ujay was born in
Bhinchhebahal, Lalitpur and has participated in
several group shows over the last decade; his
distinctive style has garnered him much
appreciation. Already a rising name in the fine art
community, Ujay currently works as an instructor at
the Nepal Traditional Handicraft Training Center. An
exhibition of his paintings entitled "Patience" was
inaugurated at Susan's Collection in Kathmandu Guest
House on 11th December and lasted a week. Ujay's
first solo venture, the collection comprised of a
score of stunning pieces, meticulously detailed and
vivid in expression. Ujay talks to Preena Shrestha
about paubha, his methods and his exhibition. |
